Pollinating Chirita

You want good, dry pollen on the anthers and the stigma, when it is ready will be (and appear) slightly sticky- wet.

For a bloom- typically between 3 - 7 days old the stigma will be ready. The pollen- keep checking after the third day.

Seed pods- take about three months to dry. Just leave them on the plant or harvest when dry and keep in a cool, dry place (contained) like in an
envelope or something.

The higher the humidity, the better the outcome.

Storing Pollen

One popular way of storing pollen is folding a small peice of wax paper into a little envelope and shaking the pollen off into the little wax paper envelope. Then put that into a larger, labeled envelope and store it in the fridge or a cool, dry place.

Stored well and dry, it will probably be viable for at least a couple of years.
